Lincoln, Hamilton, Loudoun, Round Hill, Unison, Quakers and Raiders

I have seen these books forever in the tiny book stores and places like Cracker Barrel but this is the first time I ever read one. As a Loudoun County resident for 16 years I found a few interesting things. The photos are fascinating but you don't get enough of a history lesson for my money. The county is chock-a-block with celebrity characters (Arthur Godfrey, Mars and Mellon, Kennedy, Mark Levine, RIck Santorum, Oliver North) who don't show up here. And of course we need more on the Civil War where Purcellville was a major stage late in the drama when the Blue and Gray collided near the new post office.
Book is a little dated now, written in 2000. Being from the other side of the Mason Dixon line I always look to see how segregation is portrayed in any historical account. Here one side of the story is shown when we see sparkling modern facilities full of smiling faces, with one page white and the next black. How that came to be and when it ended is left for another book.

I wanted to know who else there was in the county besides my family .These are the people the saw and did business with while living there.Shows old buildings that are still there and those that aren't.
