About the Author
Author Beverly Mount-Douds is a genealogist and historian with many ancestral links to the area around Gulf County. She is the founder and president of the Gulf County Genealogical Society and a member of the St. Joseph Historical Society. Her previous works include Images of America: Gulf County and the self-published Lighthouse Keepers. It was with the help of the Apalachicola Municipal Library, the Apalachicola Bay Historical Society, and the residents of Apalachicola that these images were acquired and the stories behind them could be written.

Historical Apalachicola

This was a beautifully done book with photos of historical Apalachicola and a bit about each one telling the history of the people or places depicted in the photograph. I loved the clarity of the pictures especially of the people in the old 1800's dresses. Some really magnificent buildings as well. Apalachicola in its heyday must have been some kind of place.
The only thing I would suggest as a help would be to not buy it for your Kindle but to get the hard copy. The photos were not really large enough to view well and a Kindle makes it hard to page back and forth to review a photograph you want to look at again and again.
It would make a wonderful coffee table edition for family and to show off to friends. Love the cover of the book as well.
