Good read on a rainy night.

Not a bad read for mystery fans. Not as well-written as a Michael Connolly masterpiece or as engrossing as a Jeffrey Deaver thriller, but this novel does hold your interest, in an Agatha Christie sort of way. Characters are appealing and well-developed, but the fate of some of them is left hanging at the end. The main drawback of the novel is that the murder doesn't occur until the final part of the book and is somewhat predictable. Still, it's well worth reading.

Barbara throws you into the scene of Allie receiving a huge inheritance of a painted Lady... Clay is there as she arrives, he is very interested in this house. Why? As she moves in, things begin to change, and she begins to feel there must be something going on in this huge house. People come and go, and the plot thickens when Allie has a friend move in. What is happening around this beautiful place? A thief? A death? Are they related? Will Allie be able to stay in her beloved house? Read this captivating book and find out!! I'm not sharing any more details!! **Warning** You will not want to put it down!
